5 Of My Must Watch TV Shows

When I’m not blogging, there’s an 80% chance you’ll find me watching TV shows on my laptop (this includes when I’m at school, sorry to any of my teachers reading this). So naturally I had to do a post about 5 of my must watch TV shows!

Parks and Recreation

Anyone who knows me will know that Parks and Rec is one of my favourite shows of all time ever. I’ve watched the whole series at least three or four times (whoops). Parks and Rec is about the Parks and Recreation department in Pawnee, Indiana and their lives. It stars Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler), a strong, badass, independent woman. You’ll fall in love with every character on this show, and if you’ve never seen it before go watch it immediately.

Oh my god, what isn’t there to love about Veep. It stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and also has people like Tony Hale, Matt Walsh and Anna Chlumsky in it. Veep is about Selina Meyer (JLD), who is the Vice President of the United States, and her career. It’s incredibly entertaining and a must watch for anyone who loves comedy (or the United States government?).

30 Rock

I found about 30 Rock after I watched Parks and Rec for the first time, and I immediately fell in love. Anyone who loves American comedy/Tina Fey/and or Saturday Night Live will love 30 Rock. It’s set in 30 Rockefeller Plaza (the building where Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon etc is filmed) and is based on the backstage shenanigans at Saturday Night Live. It stars Tina Fey (who also wrote it), Tracy Morgan, Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski, and more amazing people!

Transparent is an incredibly important, educational and funny show to watch. It follows a family who finds out the dad is transgender, and everything they go through afterwards. Every single character has their own backstory and it’s just a very quirky and great show to watch. I grew attached to each and every one of the characters and was disappointed when the show ended! It stars Jeffrey Tambor, Amy Landecker, Gaby Hoffmann, Jay Duplass and a whole bunch of other amazing actors.

If you haven’t heard about Sherlock then you’ve probably been living under a rock. Even if you aren’t a fan of/never read the Sherlock Holmes books you’ll LOVE the TV series for Sherlock. It’s a modernised version of the books starring Benedict Cumberbatch (<3) and Martin Freeman. Each episode is almost feature film length which is the best for binge watching, however when it ends you’ll be very upset.
