Monthly Faves: January 2017

This year I’m going to be trying something new and doing my monthly favourites! January is a month full of holidays coming to an end, summer, and coming down from the Christmas high. Here are my monthly favourites for January:

Please Like Me

Ok, THIS IS LITERALLY MY NEW FAVOURITE SHOW OF ALL TIME EVER. I literally love EVERY single part of this show. The characters, the storyline, the writing, the cinematography, the everything. And John the Cavoodle. Especially John the Cavoodle. It’s written by Australian comedian Josh Thomas, who won the Melbourne Comedy Festival Raw Comedy Competition when he was 17!! Please Like Me is available on Netflix and you should definitely 100% watch it immediately.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

This came out on Netflix this month and it is definitely a blast from the past. Almost every one of my friends read these books when they were kids, including me. I loved the books so of course I had to watch the Netflix series and I looooved it! The casting of all the characters is amazing, it’s exactly how I pictured them to be. You should definitely go and check out this series on Netflix.

NARSissist palette

Believe it or not with this Wellington weather, but it is actually the middle of summer, and summer brings pretty peachy, gold shimmery make up looks! I’ve been using my NARSissist palette a lot this summer and I love it. It’s easy and fun to wear and use and it’s perfect for everyday looks.

Yes, another TV show. BUT the Summer hols brings a lot of TV show watching time!!! Transparent is an incredible show, the characters and story line are amazing. It’s incredibly important and shows LGBT+ struggles. I could go on about it for ages but it’s best if you just watch it for yourself.

The Residents of Welly

Of course my good friend Lucy had to be on the list this month! She’s recently started a kickass YouTube channel (with a bit of my help). The Residents is an incredible blog that showcases how amazing Wellington is, and how inspiring the people that live here are. The YouTube channel is just as amazing and I highly recommend that you check it out!

Notebooks are one of my favourite things in the world, especially going back to school. There’s nothing nicer than a brand new untouched notebook in my opinion. You can get awesome notebooks from places like Typo and Warehouse Stationery.

You Deserve A Drink: Boozy Misadventures and Tales of Debauchery

Mamrie Hart is one of my favourite YouTubers, and this month I finally got round to reading her book You Deserve A Drink: Boozy Misadventures and Tales of Debauchery and I was definitely not disappointed. It’s filled with great life advice and will make you laugh so much that you won’t want to put it down.
